Armed Man Arrested After Standoff

A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a standoff with police near Alfred Avenue on Saturday.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of a family trouble incident and found a man on the front porch armed with a large edged weapon.

Family members, including several young children, were evacuated safely. The man then barricaded himself inside the residence, leading to a significant police response that included specialized units and a drone.

The man now faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon and resisting a peace officer, and is now in custody.
