16-year-old Winnipeg boy dies from gunshot wound; homicide police investigating

Winnipeg police say a teenager is dead after a shooting on Saturday.

Winnipeg Police Service officers were called to Boyd Avenue and Andrews Street shortly after 6 p.m.

Police say officers arrived to find the 16-year-old with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

The WPS homicide unit is investigating.
