Motorcyclist killed in collision near Stony Mountain

Manitoba RCMP says a 44-year-old man is dead after a multi-vehicle collision near Stony Mountain — roughly 15 km north of Winnipeg — on Friday.

Mounties responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle along Highway 7 near Road 70 N around 1 p.m.

Investigators believe the motorcycle was heading north on Highway 7 when it collided with a vehicle that was crossing the highway.

Police say the 44-year-old driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The 75-year-old woman, from Winnipeg, who was driving the other vehicle was not injured.

RCMP do believe speed was a factor in the collision, and an investigation is ongoing.
