Manitoba RCMP arrest 2 after infant sexual abuse videos posted online

A Manitoba mother was arrested after sexually abusing her infant in videos that were posted to social media, according to RCMP.
The Manitoba RCMP’s internet child exploitation unit (ICE) says on March 13 at 10:15 a.m. it became aware of an X account that uploaded child sexual abuse and exploitation material.
An investigation by ICE and the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre (NCECC) determined the person’s identity and location. Police say they will not be revealing the location to protect the identity of the victim.
Police allege they determined the owner of the X account was the same woman appearing in the videos.
Mounties say a 27-year-old woman was in custody by 12:05 p.m. that same day. The infant was taken in by officers, and there were no other children in the home, police say.
Investigators say they later determined a man living in the same Manitoba community was in possession of the child pornographic material.
“Officers in the community immediately investigated the male in the same community and found he had been extorting the female, threatening to post the child sexual abuse and exploitation material she created publicly on social media. It was also found that he was in possession of child pornography,” police said in a news release.
A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and extorting without a firearm. He remains in custody.
The woman was charged with sexual assault, incest, possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, and printing/publishing/making child pornography. She remains in custody.
RCMP say the investigation also found a man in the United States was in possession of the created material. Mounties say they are working with law enforcement there regarding that individual.
