Winnipeg police have charged a 24-year-old woman in connection to multiple stabbings Sunday afternoon in Osborne Village.
WPS says officers responded to reports that multiple people had been stabbed in the area. When officers arrived, they found a 57-year-old woman, a 30-year-old woman, and a 75-year-old had been stabbed.
During the initial stages of the investigation, officers learned that a woman had been seen acting in a suspicious manner by security. The woman then reportedly pulled out a knife and an altercation occurred with security.
Following the altercation, the woman ran from the store and stabbed three customers as she made her way towards the exit.
WPS say all three were taken to hospital and have since been treated for their injuries and are now in stable condition.
While searching the nearby area for the suspect, officers located her along the riverbank near Roslyn Road. She was taken into custody.
WPS says the 24-year-old woman has since been charged with aggravated assault, assault, and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
