Winnipeg police seize Molotov cocktails, kerosene from Redwood Avenue apartment

Police say a Winnipeg man was arrested after Molotov cocktails and kerosene were found at an apartment on Redwood Avenue.

The Winnipeg Police Service says members of its bomb unit needed to remove the incendiary devices Friday around 5 p.m.

Police say they received a report that numerous Molotov cocktails were being stored at the apartment on Redwood near Salter Street.

Officers say they arrived and were met with a “strong smell of kerosene.”

Winnipeg police say four Molotov cocktails and a “quantity of kerosene” were seized.

Brendan Hines, 34, was arrested and charged with four counts of unlawful possession of explosives and four counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a release order. he was detained in custody.
