Man charged in connection to fatal assault: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police have charged a man with manslaughter in the death of Leo Charles Martin-Shea.
On April 21, police took 25-year-old Mark Phillip Traverse into custody.
Officers first responded to a report that a man had been assaulted on April 11. However, investigators were able to determine the victim had been assaulted between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on April 8.
The injuries that Martin-Shea suffered were life-altering, according to WPS, and he was not able to recover. He died on April 19.

The suspect has since been charged with manslaughter.
Meanwhile, the charges have not been proven in court.
