17-year-old killed after vehicle struck utility pole: police

Winnipeg police say a 17-year-old boy was killed and an 18-year-old remains in serious condition after their vehicle struck a utility pole in Glenwood on Tuesday night.
Police say the 17-year-old was a passenger in the vehicle, while the 18-year-old was driving.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene at St. Mary’s Road and Guay Avenue shortly before 9 p.m.
The passenger was pronounced deceased shortly after being transported to hospital.
The traffic collision investigation section is investigating.
Northbound St. Mary’s Road at Vivian Avenue was closed by late Wednesday morning.
