String of vacant homes catching fire
It’s the latest in a string of vacant homes going up in flames in the city.
Earlier this week, three firefighters were hurt putting out a fire in a vacant multi-family home on Toronto Street.
And last weekend, a firefighter was injured putting out a fire at a vacant home on Selkirk Avenue.
Another Saturday morning fire: Furby Street
Later Saturday morning, at 10 a.m., crews were called to a garage fire on Furby Street near Sargent Avenue.
Two neighbouring garages were fully engulfed in flams. The fire was declared under control by 10:18 a.m.
