Three firefighters were hurt as Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service dealt with a pair of fires Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
WFPS says the first fire occurred just before 9 p.m., in a vacant multi-family home on Toronto Street.
Upon arrival, fire crews said the residence was engulfed in heavy smoke and flames and was deemed unsafe to enter.
Roughly two hours later, the fire was deemed under control, and the fire crew completed a search of the home finding no one in the building.
Three firefighters were reportedly hurt and were taken to hospital in stable condition.
WFPS says the second fire occurred around 1 a.m. on Thursday at a duplex on Elgin Avenue.
Upon arrival, smoke could be seen coming from the home, and fire crews were able to extinguish the fire after 25 minutes.
WFPS says everyone in the home was able to safely evacuate before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.
