Winnipeg police seize kilo of cocaine; 60-year-old man faces drug-trafficking charges

A 60-year-old man was arrested after Winnipeg police allegedly seized a large quantity of cocaine as part of a drug-trafficking investigation.

WPS says it seized the drugs from a residence on Boulton Bay, just off Kenaston Boulevard on Tuesday.

Police say they recovered 1.15 kg of cocaine, drug-packing materials, score sheets and $200 cash.

The man was taken into custody during the operation. He has since been released on an appearance notice.

The police’s guns and gangs unit say the Winnipeg man faces charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Winnipeg police say they executed the search warrant with the help of the tactical support team.
