Suspect, 26, charged with manslaughter in July 18 killing

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Police have charged a 26-year-old in connection with the death of a Winnipeg man earlier this summer.

Christopher Michael Grozelle is being charged with manslaughter in an incident that resulted in the death of 41-year-old Valentine Ernest Sumner, Winnipeg police said Wednesday.

Around 2:45 a.m. on July 18, emergency personnel found Sumner in critical condition, lying in the road on Main Street between Dufferin Avenue and Jarvis Avenue. He was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Grozelle had previously been charged with aggravated assault on July 24.
