2nd-degree murder charge in death of Danielle Harper

WINNIPEG – Homicide investigators have arrested and charged a 51-year-old Winnipeg man in the death of Danielle Harper.

Harper, 35, was last seen on July 12 on Main Street near Jarvis Ave. On July 23, she was found dead at a home on Manitoba Avenue near Parr Street.

At the end of last month, detectives issued a plea for tips in her case.

Police believe Harper went to the suspect’s house, where she was assaulted and died of her injuries.

Silas Ammaklak has been charged with second-degree murder in her death.
