Winnipeg police say they have made an arrest in a series of commercial break-ins, vehicle thefts and property crimes, but another suspect is still on the loose.
The Winnipeg Police Service say 13 separate incidents took place between April 20 and June 28 in Winnipeg and Headingley.
Police estimate $140,000 of property was stolen, from trailers, lawn equipment, and mechanical equipment to motorcycles, bicycles, and a vehicle.
Investigators allege stolen vehicles and stolen licence plates were used during the offences, and that the suspects frequently wore disguises.
Justin Hanson, 35, was arrested Aug. 4 after a failed traffic stop saw him speed off in his vehicle before later fleeing on foot, according to police.
Police say a search of a home later in the day revealed stolen property, a rifle, ammunition, and a lock cutter.
Hanson was charged with 22 offences, including break and enter, theft, weapons charges, and possession of stolen property.
An arrest warrant was issued for Jesse Lafreniere, 41, for 23 criminal code charges. He is described as five-foot-11, weighing 197 lbs. with a medium build.
Police allege both suspects were wearing electronic monitoring bracelets during the incidents.
The allegations against them have not been tested in court.
