Two killed in restaurant shot each other: police

WINNIPEG (CityNews) – Winnipeg police say two men who were killed after a shooting in a local restaurant were targeting each other.

At around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, officers arrived to the Johnny G restaurant in the 100 block of Main St.

Two men were suffering from serious gunshot wounds and later died in hospital.

Police now say the men, who have been identified as 30-year-old Anthony Brian Cromastey and 25-year-old Rodney Albert Kirton, were firing at each other.

A staff member who was also in the establishment at the time was treated for non life-threatening firearm injuries.

She has since been released from hospital.

Another man has been charged in the incident.

Braedon Lee Gordon, 18, is accused of assaulting Kirton after he was shot.

He is now in custody, facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
