WPS looking for suspects after gasoline poured throughout North End grocery store

Police are looking for two men who allegedly poured gasoline throughout a grocery store in Winnipeg’s North End nearly two years ago.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the incident happened Aug. 11, 2024, at a grocery store on Main Street near Burrows Avenue.

Authorities did not reveal why they are sharing photos of the suspects now, exactly 22 months later.

The WPS says two men entered the store just after midnight with jerry cans and poured gasoline out in the store.

“A store employee interrupted them and removed them before they were able to ignite the fire,” Winnipeg police say.

The first suspect is described as a man in his mid-30s of average height and build, with shaved hair and a tattoo visible on the back of his right hand.

The second suspect is described as a man between 35 and 40 years old of average height and build, with short hair on top, a fade on the side, and a goatee.
