Vacant St. John’s Avenue home burnt down twice in just months

A vacant house in the 300 block of St. John’s Avenue has been severely damaged by fire for the second time in just a few months, leaving the structure a total loss.

The latest blaze broke out early Friday morning, at approximately 7:01 a.m., sending thick smoke and flames pouring from the single-story building.

No injuries have been reported from the fire.

Due to the intensity of the fire, it was quickly brought under control, but the damage was substantial.
The house, which had already been badly damaged by a fire in July 2024, was left with extensive smoke, water, and fire damage, leading to emergency demolition plans being put in place.

The fire remains under investigation.
