Police are looking for two inmates who escaped from a minimum-security healing lodge in Winnipeg’s West End on Friday night.

The Correctional Services of Canada (CSC) say inmates Christine Goodwin and Hailey Regent escaped from the Eagle Women’s Healing Lodge on Ellice Avenue.

Staff members say they discovered Goodwin and Regent were missing around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The CSC says it immediately contacted Winnipeg police.

Warrants have been issued for their arrest.

Goodwin, 30, is serving a sentence of three years and four months on drug-related offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The CSC says Godwin is five-foot-seven, weighs 221 pounds, has brown eyes, black hair and tattoos on both hands, left arm, both calves and her neck.

Regent, 24, is serving a sentence of three years, 10 months and 25 days for armed robbery.

The CSC has described her as five-foot-10, weighing 252 pounds, with hazel eyes, brown hair, and tattoos on her fingers, right forearm, right thigh, left wrist, left shoulder, right upper arm, left hand and neck.

The CSC and healing lodge are investigating the circumstances of the escape.
