73-year-old woman injured in St. Clements home invasion; Winnipeg man arrested

Police say a 73-year-old woman was injured when a man allegedly entered her home wielding a knife and stole her car in St. Clements on Saturday.
The victim, who police say suffered only a minor injury, called 9-1-1 shortly before midnight.
The 9-1-1 operator reported hearing a voice demanding car keys. The call was then dropped.
The victim told police the suspect fled after receiving the keys, and stole the vehicle.
Police say they located an abandoned vehicle nearby. They say they then tracked the stolen vehicle and the suspect to a business in the rural municipality of St. Paul.
A 43-year-old man from Winnipeg was arrested. He is facing charges of assault, breaking and entering, theft of a motor vehicle, assault with a weapon, and more.
Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
The RM of St. Clements is northeast of Winnipeg.
