Driver killed when SUV collided with moving CN train: RCMP

WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – The driver of an SUV is dead after colliding with a moving train in southern Manitoba Friday night.
Police say the collision occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Highway 34 near Road 66 North, about 42 kilometres west of Portage la Prairie, Man.
Portage la Prairie RCMP believe the SUV was going south on Highway 34 and drove through the railway crossing arm, straight into a CN train.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
RCMP officers and a forensic reconstructionist are investigating the incident with the help of the CN Police Service.
