A driver has been charged after a child performing school patrol duties was struck by a vehicle in Winnipeg’s West End last week.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the vehicle first collided with a light standard, then struck the child at the intersection of Sargent Avenue and Dominion Street around 3:30 p.m.
The child was taken to hospital in stable condition.
The driver, who remained on scene, was charged on Tuesday with driving impudently, disobeying a traffic control device, failing to give required information to a person injured in the accident, and failing to make a police report.
