Winnipeg seeks design proposals for new fire station in Waverley West

The City of Winnipeg has issued a request for proposals for the design of a new permanent fire-paramedic station in the Waverley West neighbourhood on Friday.
The station will be designed to meet the needs of the area’s large and growing population, the City said in a news release.
It will also include a modernized station expected to be designed similar to the recently built Station 21 on Regent Avenue. The station is expected to improve response times amid increased call volumes due to residential and commercial growth in the area.
It will replace the temporary station on Eaglewood Drive that has serviced the community since 2024.
Once the new station is open, the temporary one will be decommissioned and moved to another part of the city yet to be determined.
