Man charged after Winnipeg cyclist shot on Manitoba First Nation

Police say a 23-year-old man has been charged after a man from Winnipeg was shot on Ebb and Flow First Nation last week.

Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP say the shooting happened on July 3 around 8 p.m.

The 25-year-old was riding his bicycle when he was shot in the abdomen, according to authorities. He was taken by air ambulance to a Winnipeg hospital, where he is in stable condition.

A suspect was taken into custody.

Joshua Houle of Ebb and Flow First Nation was charged with multiple offences including aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was remanded into custody.

The allegations against him have not been tested in court.
