Winnipeg motorcyclist, passenger killed in collision with pickup truck north of Selkirk

A man and woman from Winnipeg are dead after a collision with a pickup truck on the road north of Selkirk on Saturday afternoon.

Selkirk RCMP say it happened around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Provincial Road 320 and the access road to Highway 4, in the RM of St Andrews.

Police believe several motorcyclists were travelling in a group on PR320 and were turning onto the highway access road “when one of the motorcycles attempted to turn west and was struck by a southbound pickup truck.”

The motorcyclist and his passenger, both aged 65, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 26-year-old driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

Selkirk RCMP are investigating.

Correction: Police previously incorrectly stated the female passenger on the motorcycle was 72 years old. She was 65.
