1 dead after house fire in Winnipeg’s Monroe West

One person is dead following a house fire in Winnipeg’s Monroe West neighbourhood on Monday night.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service says crews searched the house once the fire was declared under control, and they found one person who was declared dead at the scene.
Firefighters were called to the one-and-a-half storey house on Trent Avenue near Brazier Street around 8:20 p.m.
They arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. The fire was declared under control at 9:13 p.m.
The blaze is under investigation.
