Winnipeg firefighters respond to 2 fires

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires Friday.
Alfred Avenue
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 10:01 p.m. Friday, in a one-and-half storey house in the 900 block of Alfred Avenue.
When crews arrived, they found smoke and flames from the house. They brought the fire under control about an hour later.
There were no occupants in the house and no injuries were reported.
Mountain Avenue
WFPS also responded to a fire in a two-and-a-half storey house in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue.
Firefighters were alerted to the first fire at 4:42 p.m. Friday. Upon their arrival, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the building which were contained by 6:15 p.m.
People from the house had safely evacuated before the crews arrives. No injuries to people were reported. Firefighters found a cat dead inside the house.
Both fires are under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
