Winnipeg police (WPS) say they arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the theft of beer and threatening violence on Wednesday.
According to WPS, Travis Dwayne Brightnose allegedly stole two cases of beer from a store on the 6600 block of Roblin Boulevard on two occasions on Dec. 21 and 27 and fled in a taxi.
In another incident on Dec. 22, he allegedly stole two cases of beer from another store on the 3700 block of Portage Avenue.
“The man indicated to an employee that he was armed with a firearm before fleeing the vendor in a taxi,” WPS said in a press release.
All three incidents were captured on CCTV camera and reported to police, police say.
Police have detained Brightnose and have charged him with: three counts of robbery, three counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and fraudulently getting transportation.
