Manitoba introduces new anti-Islamophobia plan in schools

Manitoba is taking action to tackle Islamophobia in education from kindergarten to Grade 12.

A new anti-Islamophobia action plan will introduce Muslim history in schools and curricula across the province, including supports and resources for both students and educators.

The plan will also foster stronger relationships between schools and Muslim communities.

According to Education and Early Childhood Learning Minister Tracy Schmidt, the plan outlines the province’s commitment to anti-racism and equity in education and will be rolled out in partnership with school divisions and community organizations.
