Moose hunting season opens in Manitoba

Moose hunting season opens Dec. 1 in Manitoba, and the province is asking all hunters to follow all hunting and safety rules, such as always carrying your valid hunting licence and identification, wearing orange for visibility, not trespassing on private or restricted lands, and reporting illegal hunting or waste to Manitoba Conservation Officers.

An additional 250 licenses are available this season, providing more opportunities for licensed hunters across the province.

Hunters who are active in areas where chronic wasting disease is a concern should have harvested animals tested, practice safe carcass-handling protocols, and avoid consumption of any animal that has tested positive or has not yet been tested.
