Woman, 67, killed in Winnipeg’s 9th fatal pedestrian crash of 2025

Advocates call for lowered speed limits after fatal pedestrian collision over the weekend

Winnipeg police say a 67-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car on Osborne Street on Friday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it’s the ninth fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian this year, and the 16th fatality resulting from a motor vehicle collision.

Authorities say this latest fatal incident happened at Osborne Street and Roslyn Road around 1:20 p.m.

The woman was reportedly crossing Osborne when she was hit by a car travelling west on Roslyn. She was taken to hospital in stable condition, where she died of her injuries.

The 32-year-old man behind the wheel of the car remained on scene and cooperated with officers, police say.

The WPS traffic division is investigating.
