An argument in a coffee line escalated to a physical altercation that resulted in an injury Winnipeg police describe as life-altering.
The incident occurred in the morning of October 6th in a shelter in the first 100 block of Disraeli Freeway.
The 41-year-old suspect and 55-year-old victim began arguing while in line, before the suspect turned around and punched the victim in the face, breaking his glasses and causing him to fall backwards to the ground.
The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition, but suffered a life-altering injury, according to police.
The suspect, Arnold Jeffry Murdock, fled before police arrived at the scene, but was taken into custody three days later when police located him in the 300 block of Stanley Street. He was charged with aggravated assault, but was released on an undertaking.
