3 Winnipeg suspects among Canada’s top 25 most-wanted fugitives

Bolo Program released its new list of the top 25 most wanted fugitives in Canada, which includes three suspects wanted in Winnipeg crimes.

Three suspects from Winnipeg are among Canada’s most-wanted fugitives, including a man wanted countrywide for first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old Winnipeg soccer player.

Tresor Horimbere

Tresor Horimbere is a suspect in the July 13, 2024, shooting of Mohamed Yusuf Abdullahi in the parking lot of Winnipeg’s Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.

Abdullahi had just finished playing soccer at the Canada African Cup of Nations tournament. He later died in hospital.

Winnipeg Police Service investigators have already arrested and charged two suspects in that murder investigation.

Horimbere is number four on the Bolo Program’s latest top 25 most-wanted list in Canada. A reward of up to $100,000 is available for information that leads to his arrest.

He is described as five-foot-eight with a slim build, weighing 120 lbs.

“It’s definitely one that we want to keep in the mind of individuals because it was a soccer game, it was an activity where people go to have fun, to be with friends, be with community. And it was shaken that night by this heinous act,” said WPS Sgt. Paul Barber.

Chad Dandan

Also on the Bolo list, at number seven, is Chad Jason Dandan, a suspect wanted for murder in the September 2024 murder of 22-year-old Ontario man Zeyad Vifan Shammo.

Shammo was reported missing on Sept. 10, with police later alleging he was abducted. His body was found inside a home on Bristol Avenue Sept. 13, 2024.

Winnipeg police arrested two men who knew Shammo and charged them with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and extortion.

Dandan, who is wanted on the same charges, remains at large. He is described as five-foot-six with a medium build, weighing around 140 lbs. Police believe he could be in northern Manitoba.

Yusuf Ali

The third suspect on Bolo’s updated list, at number 17, is Yusuf Abdulqadir Ali.

Ali is wanted on two counts of attempted murder and several firearms offences in connection with attempted murders in 2021 in West Broadway.

Ali is described as six-foot-three, weighing 235 lbs. with a medium build. Winnipeg police say he is “gang-affiliated and involved in the drug subculture,” is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Police say two men, aged 29 and 35, sustained life-threatening gunshot wounds during the Nov. 25, 2021, incident on Furby Street near Sara Avenue. Both victims were taken to hospital in critical condition, where they later recovered from their injuries.

“Make no mistake: these dangerous individuals are somewhere, among us, right now, and will remain so, this afternoon, tonight, tomorrow, and next week if we don’t do something. Today, together, as a nation, we’re sending the message that we’re on the lookout for them,” said Max Langlois, the BOLO Program’s executive director.

“Our investigators have never stopped pursuing these individuals,” added Insp. Jennifer McKinnon of the WPS Major Crimes Division. “Each case represents a life tragically lost or seriously injured and a family still searching for answers. Through our collaboration with the BOLO Program, we’re bringing national attention to these wanted offenders, and empowering communities to stay informed, stay alert, and be part of the solution.”
