Winnipeg motorcyclist killed in weekend collision

A Winnipeg man is dead after a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle over the weekend, according to Manitoba RCMP.

Mounties responded to a report of a collision around 4 p.m. on May 31, on McGillivray Boulevard near Road 8E in the Rural Municipality of Macdonald.

Initial stages of the investigation, RCMP learned that a 47-year-old man from Winnipeg was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a SUV, while the SUV was trying to pass another vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the SUV — a 17-year-old from Winnipeg — was treated and released at the scene.

The RCMP has not provided any additional information at this time, and says the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
