Man killed in house fire north of Brandon

A 38-year-old man is dead following a house fire in the RM of Clanwilliam-Erickson.

A news release from RCMP indicated members of the Yellowhead detachment responded to the blaze at roughly 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Once the fire was out, emergency responders entered the home and located the body of the man, with an autopsy confirming he died as a result of injuries sustained in the fire.

Yellowhead RCMP, Dauphin RCMP forensic identification services, along with the Office of the Fire Commissioner, continue to investigate.

The cause of the fire also remains under investigation, and a damage estimate was not available.
