Woman charged for allegedly wielding shotgun near house fire

Winnipeg police say a 39-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly being found with a shotgun.

WPS says just before 2 p.m. on July 12, officers responded to a home along Salter Street near College Avenue, after receiving a report from WFPS — who were fighting a fire at the time — that a woman was allegedly carrying a shotgun.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the woman in question, and were later able to search the home, where a Browning Model 5 long-barreled shotgun that was previously reported stolen back in 2015 was reportedly located.

Since 39-year-old Carrie Anne Rudolph was charged with four firearm-related offences and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
