Winnipeg man facing child porn charges after police search Armed Forces base

Police say a 31-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple child pornography charges following an investigation into photographs shared online.
Investigators allege between May 2018 and April 2019, the accused photographed an undressed child who was known to him and uploaded and shared the images on social media.
On Wednesday, police say they executed a search warrant on the Canadian Armed Forces base and arrested a man. They add multiple electronic devices were seized.
Police say that’s when investigators learned the identity of the child, and determined the accused allegedly coerced the child to engage in sexual activity in 2020.
Authorities say they are not naming the man to protect the identity of the child.
The 31-year-old accused is facing several charges including possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and invitation to sexual touching. He was released with conditions prohibiting access to the internet and anyone under 18.
