Possibly ‘armed and dangerous’ suspects wanted in Winnipeg North End double murder

Two men are wanted Canada-wide in a double murder investigation in Winnipeg’s North End earlier this year.

Winnipeg police say Sheldon Derrach Catcheway, 33, of Swan Lake First Nation and Shanastene Irene McLeod, 35, of Muskowekwan First Nation in Saskatchewan were killed in a Feb. 15 shooting. Both were living in Winnipeg.

Officers arrived to find the injured Catcheway outside the home on Alfred Avenue near Aikins Street around 4:15 a.m., while McLeod was inside. Both were suffering from upper-body injuries. They were taken to hospital in critical condition, where they died.

Homicide investigators say they identified two suspects, and warrants have been issued for their arrests.

Jermain Gage Houle is wanted for second-degree murder, and Aaron Junior Houle is charged with accessory after the fact.

Winnipeg police say they are possibly armed and dangerous.
