Man charged in connection to fatal assault: Winnipeg police

Winnipeg police say a 33-year-old man has been charged in connection to a fatal assault Sunday morning.
WPS says around 6:15 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man was unresponsive and looked to have been assaulted.
Officers responded to the scene near Pacific Avenue and Sherbrook Street, where they found a man who was already dead. He was later identified as 32-year-old Kelsey Traverse, from St. Martin First Nation, Man.
Police identified a man believed to be connected and took him into custody at his home on Kate Street.
Investigators believe the two men knew each other, and got into an altercation at the home on Pacific Avenue, which resulted in the death.
Michael George Lavallee, 33, has been charged with second-degree murder.
