Winnipeg teen accused of damaging stolen vehicle by doing donuts in parking lot

A Winnipeg teen is facing criminal charges after reports of erratic driving resulted in property damage to a stolen vehicle.

On Monday at 6:45 p.m., officers found a heavily damaged 2021 Kia Forte in a parking lot on Kimberly Avenue near Rizer Crescent, which they later confirmed was stolen from a home on Whitley Drive on March 18.

Officers, along with the tactical support unit and canine unit, found the suspects hiding on Green Valley Bay near Louelda Street. Three suspects were arrested, followed by a fourth suspect being arrested shortly after.

A 15-year-old boy from Winnipeg is facing charges of mischief over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

A 14-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys from Winnipeg were released with no charges.
