Adult, teen charged with drug trafficking in Winnipeg’s North End

Winnipeg police say a 22-year-old and a 15-year-old have been charged in connection to a drug investigation.

WPS says in March, officers began an investigation into a man believed to be in the illicit drug trade in the city’s North End.

On March 21, officers attended a home along Alfred Street. While at the scene, they noticed a suspect fleeing the home on a scooter.

The WPS drone unit was able to track the suspect before he was taken into custody a short time later.

During the pursuit, WPS added the drone unit noticed the man discarding a black satchel, which officers were able to recover. Within the satchel, officers were able to find and seize around $6,900 in cash and a Glock-style replica handgun.

Officers also executed a search warrant at the home, where they were able to take a second suspect into custody, before noting the suspect had to be taken to hospital for ingesting an unknown substance.

During the search, police were able to find and seize a sawed-off shotgun, and a mastiff puppy that appeared to not have been properly taken care of.

Police also executed search warrants at attached suites at the same address, where they were able to find and seize firearm parts, ammunition, around 23 grams of cocaine, score sheets, a contaminated scale, packaging materials, and drug paraphernalia.

Darian Parisian-Gray, 22, has been charged firearm-related offences, trafficking a scheduled substance, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of proceeds obtained by a crime, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with conditions of a release order.

A 15-year-old is facing similar charges, according to WPS.
