Winnipeg Wesmen men’s volleyball team to host Canada West Final Four for first time

History has been made for the Winnipeg Wesmen men’s volleyball team as they’re set to host the Canada West Final Four for the first time ever this weekend.

After dropping the Manitoba Bisons in their best of three quarter final series, the Wesmen have the chance to make it to nationals with a top three finish this weekend.

Heading into their most important games yet, two Wesmen earned major awards Wednesday.

Head Coach Chris Voth was named Canada West coach of the year and redshirt freshman Easton Dick captured the conference’s rookie of the year award.

After posting a 10-1 record at home in the regular season, the top seeded Wesmen are back at the Duckworth Centre on Friday at 5p.m. to take on the Saskatchewan Huskies in the semifinals.
