14-year-old girl stabbed in Winnipeg

A 14-year-old girl is in stable condition after she was stabbed on Saturday, by a group of strangers just before 10 p.m. in the area of Niverville Avenue and Champlain Street.

According to police, the girl was walking to meet someone when she was confronted by a group of unknown women or girls.

Police say the group assaulted and stabbed the girl before running away. A citizen nearby found the girl and called 911.

She was transported to a hospital in unstable condition but has been upgraded to stable.

The investigation is ongoing.
