Woman facing charges after argument escalates to alleged assault

Winnipeg police say an 18-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly assaulting another 18-year-old woman Saturday night.
WPS says around 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, officers responded to a home after an assault was reported.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found an 18-year-old suffering from serious upper-body injuries. She was taken to a hospital in unstable condition, and later upgraded to stable.
While at the scene, officers were able to take another 18-year-old into custody without any issues.
Through an investigation, police learned that the pair had gotten into an argument after consuming alcohol together at the home. The argument then reportedly escalated and resulted in an alleged assault.
WPS says one of the women is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
