It’ll soon be time for Manitobans to say: “HÉHO!”
The Festival du Voyageur is set to celebrate 56 years in 2025 releasing its full program Tuesday, the event a sure-fire way to shake any sort of winter doldrums for residents in Winnipeg and beyond.
“Festival season is finally here,” said Breanne Lavallée-Heckert, the festival’s executive director in a news release. “For the first time since winter 2023, you’ll see snow sculptures that will decorate the city of Winnipeg and Provencher Boulevard and provide a fun feeling of excitement for FDV2025.”
Running from Feb. 14 to 23, some big names will be gracing the stage at this year’s celebration, with performances including The Barr Brothers, Corb Lund and Leif Vollebekk.
Festival goers will also experience several new attractions, including an exhibition of objects, artifacts and photos from past festivals, titled: L’shed à Léo, interactive self-guided activity tours of Fort Gibraltar that take you back to 1815 and a new outdoor lounge with bonfires, a beverage shack, art and a daytime ice-sculpting workshop.
Alongside day passes and Voyageur Passes that give you access to the full festival, a weekend pass is now being made available for those looking to part.
And if you are looking to dance like a Voyageur, tickets with guaranteed access to the Tent Rivière Rouge, or the Big Tent, on Feb. 15, 21 and 22, can also be purchased, allowing come-and-go access all day.
