Man dead following New Year’s Eve collision on Trans Canada east of Winnipeg

Manitoba RCMP says a person is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 just east of Winnipeg on New Year’s Eve.
Mounties say the collision happened around 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 1 and Settlers Road.
Through an investigation, police believe that a 32-year-old man from Winnipeg was driving north on Settlers Road when it entered the highway and was hit by an SUV travelling west.
The 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 18-year-old woman driving the SUV suffered minor physical injuries.
An investigation is still ongoing.
