Two charged after house was shot at along Boyd Avenue

Winnipeg police say two people have been charged following a shooting incident on Boyd Avenue on Thursday.

WPS says around 12:45 a.m., officers responded to the report of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two people next to a black Jeep Compass in the back lane of the home. Both were taken into custody without incident.

While talking to both people, officers noticed one attempting to discard an object. The object was recovered and confirmed to be a cap gun with 5 rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

Police then conducted a search of the vehicle and found a sawed-off New England Firearms Pardner 12-gauge shotgun with one spent round of ammunition and eight additional shotgun shells.

Through a continued investigation, police learned that both individuals arrived at the back lane, when one of them armed themself with the shotgun, walked to the front door of the home and fired a shot before returning to the Jeep and being taken into custody.

Police note there were no injuries in the shooting and have confirmed that both individuals who were taken into custody did not know the homeowner.

Jordan Paul Brown, 31, and Kiah Leigh Danyluk, 28, are facing a combined 22 charges including discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm, and driving without a licence, to name a few.
