Armed robbery at fast food restaurant leads to arrest
On Saturday, Winnipeg police responded to a robbery in progress at a fast food restaurant located in the 1100 block of Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect, armed with a knife, had entered the back kitchen area of the establishment and demanded food from the employees, threatening to kill them.
The employees were able to quickly secure themselves in an office and call 911 for assistance.

The suspect, in a further act of destruction, took a fire extinguisher and sprayed the entire kitchen and restaurant area, rendering the business inoperable. He then fled the scene.
Police quickly located the suspect leaving the premises and took him into custody without incident.
No employees were injured during the incident.
An 18-year-old male from Winnipeg has been charged with the following offenses:
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Mischief Over $5,000
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Cocaine
The suspect remains in police custody.
