Man fatally stabbed during altercation in St. James; suspect arrested

Winnipeg police say a 47-year-old man was fatally stabbed during an altercation in St. James Thursday night.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the victim was found with stab wounds around 10 p.m. in the 1800 block of Ellice Avenue.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.

A 42-year-old man was arrested nearby, according to police. Authorities say the suspect and victim knew each other.
