Public assistance needed in hit-and-run involving pedestrian in Winnipeg

Police are seeking the public’s help following a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian early on September 29, 2024.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a collision near the intersection of St. Anne’s Road and Granby Bay.

Upon arrival, they found an 18-year-old woman receiving medical attention for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to the hospital in unstable condition but has since been upgraded to stable.

According to investigators, the victim was crossing the street when she was struck by a northbound vehicle on St. Anne’s Road, which then fled the scene. She was discovered on the roadway shortly afterward by a passing motorist who contacted emergency services.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the vehicle or driver involved to come forward.
