‘Lord of the Rings’ stars Sean Astin, Billy Boyd coming to Winnipeg Comiccon

Winnipeg Comiccon has announced a pair of hobbits from “The Lord of the Rings” will be coming to Winnipeg.

While it might be a little colder than Mordor, Sean Astin, best known for his iconic role of Samwise Gamgee, but also in “The Goonies,” “Rudy” and “Stranger Things,” and Billy Boyd, known for playing Peregrin “Pippin” Took, will join the already star-studded list of guests at this year’s Comiccon.

Both Astin and Boyd will be at the RBC Convention Centre on Oct. 26 and 27, where they will meet fans, sign autographs, and take part in a 45-minute stage conversation.
